Had a great long weekend! Mom and Dad were in town, which is always a good time. They left NY last Monday with a stop in Pittsburgh, then they drove down to Allison, and on Friday they drove up our way. When they got here Friday dad suggested going to Toys R Us to see if they had any Gas Monkey Garage cars/trucks - so we all went took a trip there. Then we did drinks, which is always a good time.
Saturday morning we took the boys to Dunkin - Ben has been wanting a mini donut - so he finally got one of those! Then we went to the pool. Jim has been doing swim team, and he's been doing great with that! It's always fun to have the boys show them what they're up to. Ben has come a long way from the beginning of the summer. He would freeze up if we took him on the other side of the rope, and he would never put his face in the water. But he's now putting his face in, and swimming all around! He's a lot more confident with his flippers on, but it's great! Allison ended up coming up for the weekend as well with Emma, so they met us at the pool. We just hung out for the rest of the day, and grilled burgers for dinner.
Sunday we went to Southside for brunch, we got some crabs and enjoyed hanging out on the patio.
Mom & Dad took off Monday morning - and Mark took the boys to the pool for Jim's practice, and I stayed home to do some work. Then the boys took me to Dick's to buy my early birthday present - my own baseball glove, which was all Jim's idea, which is adorable! He said everyone else had one so I should get one too!
Yesterday was the 4th - our neighborhood did their parade again this year, so we did that. That was the extent of our 4th of July festivities. Allison & Emma took off after the parade.
I always love having family in town!
