What a wonderful week!

Christmas break was awesome! It was so good to be home and spend time with the family. I could have done without all the extra driving - but that would have meant not seeing everyone - so I'll take sitting in the car, definitely worth it! It's such a great time of the year - I love it!

Got up Saturday morning - packed up, loaded the car, straightened up the house, etc. We were planning to stop at the gym on our way, but we got a late start, and thought there would be snow on our way up to Castile, and didn't want to be late for the 6:00 Syracuse game, so we skipped and drove on north. Had no problems with the drive up or with the weather so that was nice.

Sunday morning we went to Church, got to see the kids Christmas pageant that they put on. Mark's parents had a Christmas dinner to go to at Casey's house - we hung out while they were there. We were supposed to meet them at 5:00 in Geneseo for dinner - they had beat us there and found out the restaurant was closed...so they said let's try the Lumber Yard in Perry - but that was closed as well. Finally found the Hole in the wall which was open - so we had dinner there. Went back home and opened Christmas gifts. Mark's parents bought us a Wii! Pretty exciting. And they seemed to really have liked their kayak paddles. After that we played some Euchre - and I have to say that Mark & I kicked the parents butt!

Monday morning got up to snow - and everything being shut down. They get Buffalo news at home and all the schools there were shut down. Kinda wondering what the roads were going to be luck for our drive into Buffalo, but turned out not too bad. It was a slower drive home than normal - but not terrible. Made it home safely to have some lunch and didn't do a whole lot the rest of the day. It was nice not having anything going on. We did run to Target and got Mario Kart for Wii and a couple wheels - and broke that out before the Syracuse game was on. Got to watch that at home, no worries like over Thanksgiving. We were going to go down to Dad's office for a little party they were going to have for him, but it ended getting cancelled because of the weather. Mom made her usual Christmas dinner - Italian wedding soup & raviolis for us since we never get to eat it on Christmas day - and like always it was very yummy! Mom bought us a couple early Christmas gifts - a Harry Potter Scene it game & Apples to Apples. I can't remember if it was after the Basketball game or on Tuesday that we got mom & dad to play Apples to Apples with us - good times!!!

Tuesday we got up and went down to the Buffalo club to go to the gym. Never been down there before to use the gym...Mark & I lifted and then I went and used the virtual bike for 25 minutes while Mark kept lifting...Allison lifted for a bit and then biked...and dad did cardio. We all got ready to go and then hit the road for Erie. The drive in wasn't bad at all. We went to Nana's first. Uncle Albert was in town for Christmas. Good getting to see everyone! They had lunch meat so we had that for lunch and then visited. Nana seemed to be doing good. There were definitely times when she would just be sitting there watching TV...she was cute I was making my sandwich and had just put on the ham, and still wanted cheese & salami, but she came over and closed it up for me. After there we went over to Grandma's. Got to visit with her, Aunt Mary Beth, and Aunt Judy...and all their dogs. Again, good getting to visit with them! Wish we could do it more often. The drive home wasn't that much fun at all. It wasn't really all that bad until we hit the toll booth in Buffalo...and then traffic sucked, and it was snowy, and the roads were all slushy...but we finally made it home I think 2 1/2 hours later. Mom bought us Wegman's subs for dinner so we had those, and hung out the rest of the night. Played some more Apples to Apples and Mario Kart. Rob & Jenna made it in - was glad to see they came up today and not Christmas Eve morning...
