Christmas Break Continued...

Monday was Christmas Eve. Got up in the morning and made Sweet Bread (which turned out very yummy!) And helped to get stuff together for dinner. The girls made a Gingerbread House...The 2nd year we did that...Once we had everything done, we played another game of Risk. Got Allison hooked to that game. It was nice to be able to sit around and enjoy doing that. Before we knew it, it was time to be getting ready for Church. Went to our usual 4:00 Mass, and then headed home for Christmas Eve Dinner! Ate lots of good food - shrimp, lobster, crab legs, piergos....All very yummy. Had our usual after dinner shots. And then it was present time! Ashley had my name, and got me a new purse. Allison really liked the slippers I got her...Mom & Dad liked their gift certificate to the Mirebau Spa...Thought that Mark may have had a ring for Ashley, but that never happened....Enjoyed the rest of the evening with the family, which was capped off with "Twas the Night Before Christmas."

Allison got us all up at 7:00AM Christmas morning to open gifts. Don't think we'll ever get to sleep in on Christmas morning. Got a new black fleece, a mini video camera, couple other small things, and a gift Certificate to Kohl's. I really liked that, and already have a couple of things on my list to go shopping there...After presents, we had our usual Christmas morning breakfast, and then we were on the road a little after 11:00 headed on up to Albany. Had an easy drive up there...Spent the evening at Mark's grandpa's - Mark's mom did a lot of work to get everything together for dinner. Had a good time visiting with the fam!

Wednesday -- We got up, and went over to the Colony Center to walk around for a bit...And then we played 2 games of Risk. Definitely am enjoying that game! And then we headed over to Grandma's for Christmas w/ the VanZandt's. Had a good time there...

Thursday - We headed back south to VA. We made our usual stop in Jersey to visit with Odette. It was good seeing her & catching up with her. She thinks this is her last year in Denver. I'm hoping she'll head to Cornell next, it'll be a lot closer, and hopefully we could eliminate seeing each other only twice a year. Made it back to VA, and went into Old Towne to meet up with Louise, her brother, cousin, Nicole & Karl. Went to dinner at Chadwick's, and then came back here, and stayed up getting caught up! I cannot sleep in...It was close to 2:00 when we went to bed, and I was still up at 7 something.

Friday - We went to Breakfast at IHOP...Then Mark & I raked some leaves, and headed out to the gym. We went running after that. Which was good for me, need to start getting in shape for the Cherry Blossom 10-Miler. Had a pretty relaxing Friday evening.

Saturday - Mark set the alarm so we could get up and go to the gym. Did that, came home, showered, and then headed down to the Verizon Center. Met up with Sean & Nicole at the Green Turtle for lunch, and then went to the Georgetown vs. American basketball game. Good times! We decided against going out somewhere to watch the Giants vs. Patriots game. Instead we stayed in & watched it at home, and played some more Risk.

Sunday - Got up & went to Church...Where the priest during his homily was talking about sex. Yeah, that was a little interesting. Got home & Mark headed up to Rockville to play some football. I did some cleaning, laundry, and am almost finished with Mark's stocking! Just need to sew the back onto it! Mark got home, he fell & hit his head on one play, and has had a pretty bad headache. I'm just hoping he's better tomorrow, because New Year's Eve will be no fun if he still has a headache...

So all in all it's been a very good vacation! Still have 2 more days off, which I will enjoy!!!
