Syracuse Weekend

This weekend was our first trip up to Syracuse. We took Friday off of work, so Thursday night Mark & I went to Overwood for dinner and a beer. Like always, dinner was very yummy! On our way home we saw this huge fire over towards Route 1. The fire was huge, and very bright lighting up the entire sky. We were able to see the thick smoke from our house when we got home. Come to find out the Springhill Suites that was under construction had caught fire, and took over 100 fire fighters to put out.

Friday morning we got up and picked up the rental car. Then came home to pack for Syracuse, and then we were good and went to the gym. We headed up to Rockville to pick up Sean & Nicole and then we were off. It was nice to have someone else in the car with us...The drive up wasn't too bad in terms of traffic. It could've been real bad since there were like 4 different construction areas where traffic was down to one lane...It was raining pretty much the entire drive so that part sucked. We got up to Syracuse just before 7:00 and checked into the hotel. Then made our way to Marshall Street. We went to Varsity for some yummy pizza and then spent the rest of the night at Faegan's. Mom, Dad & Allison went out to dinner and met up with us at Faegan's when they were done with that. It was fun hanging out with all them! Drank a good amount...played some asshole...A couple of Allison's friends were there as well. All in all a good night....

Until we had to get up Saturday morning. Everyone had a bit of a hangover. But we all got up, showered...Mom had gotten some bagels so I went to get those from her. I think everyone was pretty happy to have some food in their stomach. We then walked over to Allison's apartment and hung out there for awhile. Her & mom got a bunch of subs from Wegmans, and mom brought up snacks so we ate lunch over there. Everyone was still feeling the beer from Friday night, so there was no drinking before the game. Eventually made our way to the quad and into the Dome. Our seats are pretty decent! We're 9 rows up from the field, on the corner across from the tunnel. Not too shabby for our 1st year getting season tickets. The game, as expected was a blow out. We lost 55-13. I thought for a minute, it might be an okay game when we intercepted the ball on one of the first plays...But as soon as we got the ball, we fumbled, PSU recovered, and scored a touchdown. This was all within the first minute of the game. But regardless, we still had a good time there! The premier of the Express was this weekend, so during halftime Dennis Quaid and Jim Brown were there. The fans pretty much stayed to see that, and then the Dome emptied out real quick. We stayed for the entire game...and then headed on back to Allison's. We ordered some Domino's' for dinner...played some beer pong. Um, yeah, Allison & I got beat by mom & dad. Something is not right with that picture. And then mom & dad got beat by Mark & Jason. All in all it was a good night!! Sunday morning we got up, showered and then hit the road to drive home. The drive home wasn't that bad at all. Again, it was nice having someone else in the car to ride with.
