Weekend in Pittsburgh

Yet again, another weekend in review...

Friday was a long day at work. Had a 6:00 column pour...and then they were pouring the box culvert at 1:00, and guess who got stuck out there. Woohoo, lucky me. There was one good part to the day - Pete took us all to Soutside and treated us to lunch. We're not really sure what the reason for it was, but I enjoyed a free lunch. Didn't leave here until after 5:00 and headed down to Overwood. Tom, Michelle & Dennis were still there, and Mark was 10 minutes behind me...So we stayed for the $1.00 beers, and then Mark & I stayed for some yummy dinner. Decided to head home then so we could watch some Olympics.

Saturday morning we got up & got ready to head to Pittsburgh. We left a little later than I had planned, but made it to Rob's a little after 1:00. They have a really nice place. Hung out there for awhile and then headed into the city. Was Mark & I, Rob & Jenna, and Mom & Dad. We went to Jerome Bettis' restaurant for drinks & dinner. Had a good time there hanging out with everyone. Then we went over to the baseball game. It got a little long/boring in the end...but we stuck around because there was a fireworks show & Phil Vassar had a little concert. It was perfect timing though, it ended and as we were walking out swimming was on, so we were able to watch Michael Phelps get his 8th gold medal in the 200IM relay. That was pretty exciting...the sidewalk filled up and everyone was cheering for the U.S.

Sunday morning got up and went to Church..and then we went to Giant Eagle to get some food so we could cook breakfast. Made some bacon, sausage, & eggs and enjoyed a yummy breakfast. And then Mark & I hit the road. The drive home wasn't bad at all. We made it back down to Alexandria in 4 hours. Went to the grocery store when I got home, made some sausage w/ peppers & onions for dinner...Watched some Olympics. They showed the women's 8 race, the U.S. won the gold medal!!! Anna Goodale was in the boat, so it was pretty awesome to see that. And then the Netherlands got the silver medal, and Helen Tanger was in that boat. It's cool to know 2 Olympians!
