Allison's graduation!

This weekend we were up in Syracuse for Allison's graduation. We took the day off on Friday so we didn't have to worry about driving up late on Friday. We got up and picked up our rental car. We had a Hyundai Sonata which wasn't that comfortable at all. Got all packed and ready to go and stopped at the gym on our way north. The drive up wasn't too bad. Think we made it up in 6 1/2 hours. At one point when we were close to Syracuse there was a torrential downpour. People were pulling over because it was hard to see anything. I was the lucky one to be driving during that - and had no issues! We got into Syracuse and stopped by Allison's apartment. Picked her up and met up with the parents at their hotel. We had a beer there and went to some Italian Restaurant for dinner. Ate too much food and was pretty full for the rest of the night. We went to Faegan's after that. It was hard to drink a lot because we were so full. The Naccarato's came by for a bit. Good getting to see them, it was Mr. & Mrs. as well as their Uncle Sam & Aunt Kim, and of course Anthony. I think they're coming to Rob's wedding so we'll be seeing them again. We were done after Faegan's, so we went back to the hotel and crashed on the floor in the parents room.

Saturday morning we got up bright and early for Allison's graduation. We showered and stopped at Bruegger's for breakfast, and then made our way to the dome. Her graduation started at 9:00. I graduated 7 years ago - and finally attended my 1st real graduation there! It was a nice ceremony! We met up with her afterwards near Hendricks and took a couple pictures...and then Rob & Ashley met up with us as well. They didn't want to leave super early so they just planned to meet us once it was over. We then stopped down at the bookstore and Marshall Street to get some SU stuff for Allison. Then made our way to the hotel so we could give her her graduation gifts and we also gave mom her Mother's Day gifts. We all got her an orchid..and I got Allison a coozie, Orangeopoly game, and some SU ping pong balls. After that we made our way to Allison's and then over to Mike & Will's where they had a little graduation party. Had a good time there. Started drinking too early though. Was ready to be done drinking after dinner time. Would have liked to have stayed and played some Flip Cup and such, but by the time all the adults left I was starting to get a little headache. Mark, Rob, & I ended up going back to the hotel, and called it an early night. Ashley had been drinking - her line of the night was asking who drank all her Captain. Hello, by the looks of it, you did! She ended up staying at Allison's that night.

Sunday morning we got up again bright and early so we could all shower and get ready for Allison's graduation. Had to go get Ashley because Allison couldn't find her ID anywhere, and needed that to get into the Dome. I think she had the same ID for 4 years - and the one time she really needed it she couldn't find it. By the time we got to the Dome, it was already packed. The entire lower level was full so we ended up sitting in the upper level. The graduation was nice. It took forever for everyone to walk in. Was pretty cool getting to hear Joe Biden speak! Mark & I took off right after that. We didn't want to deal with everyone trying to get out of the Dome. The drive home wasn't bad at all. Think it took the same time, about 6 1/2 hours to get home. All in all it was a great weekend. And much congratulations to Allison!!! My baby sister is all graduated :(
