Our Thanksgiving Vacation

I'm going to do a list of our week up home in New York. I figured it'll be a lot easier than actually writing every single thing out. I'm sure there will be a couple more detailed posts on some of the happenings.

FRIDAY:

• Mark got home from work & we hit the road north. Found out Maggie & Rolf are expecting in June!!
• Mark called Sirius so we could get the Best of XM and listen to the SU vs. UNC b-ball game.
• Syracuse kicked UNC's butt!!! We're going to have a pretty good b-ball team this season.
• Made it to the north side of Syracuse & checked into a Quality Inn.

SATURDAY:

• Got up and took off to Syracuse.
• Met up with Jon & Cindy at Danzer's for some yummy German lunch! Found out they're expecting in July!!!
• We got to see a win - Syracuse beat Rutgers!!!
• Drove home to Buffalo

SUNDAY:

• Got up and went to 8:00 Mass
• We went down to the Buffalo Club for a workout.
• Mom cooked breakfast for us all.
• Mom & I went to Babies 'R Us & Target. Bought our mattress & then some bedding stuff.
• Had chicken & ribs for dinner. Chris joined us as well.

MONDAY:

• Mom took the day off of work so she could spend time with us.
• Mark & I went to Bally's; Mom went to the Doctor's - as she ended up coming down with something.
• Met Allison at Tully's for lunch - she finally got a number & is a financial advisor now. CONGRATS Allison!!
• Mom & I ran to Kohl's - bought new shoes.
• Mark helped dad hang some Christmas lights.
• Had spaghetti & meatballs for dinner. Got to meet Justin!

TUESDAY:

• Got up, packed up our stuff, and went to the gym.
• Drove over to Mark's house & hung out.
• Grilled Steaks for dinner.

WEDNESDAY:

• Went to Wal-Mart & Wegmans to pick up stuff for the shower & Thanksgiving.
• Baby Shower #1 at VanZandt's. (See more detailed post)
• Mark went with his dad & brother to dinner to get away from all the chicks.

THURSDAY:

• Happy Thanksgiving!!!
• Watched some of the Macy's Day parade.
• Thanksgiving at the Kushner's this year.
• Ate lots of good food - too much good food!

FRIDAY:

• Omelette's for breakfast, and then hit the road for Buffalo.
• Finally had the chili that Allison made for us on Saturday for lunch.
• Helped with a couple of things for the shower tomorrow.
• Went to the Ale House for Happy Hour & Appetizers.
• Rob & Jenna didn't come home this year.
• Everyone had quite a bit to drink, along with a couple of shots.
• Made calazones for dinner - which were very yummy.
• Watched Syracuse beat up on Columbia University.
• We made our gingerbread house a little early - since we're always so busy at Christmas time.

SATURDAY:

• Hit the road for Erie.
• Shower #2 at the Bel-Aire - again, I'll post a more detailed post about that.
• Mark & Rob did a GREAT job packing the Jeep.
• Mark was pretty tired from drinking last night & not sleeping well.
• Got back to Alexandria around 9:30 pm

All in all it was a great Thanksgiving week! Was glad we were able to take off the entire week to spend time with the family. And it was nice we didn't have a million things going on. Was able to spend time relaxing and not running around doing a ton of stuff.
