Snow Day!!

I had my first ever snow day on Wednesday!!!

We left work on Tuesday - and Rick basically told us if it was snowing in the morning, don't worry about coming into work on Wednesday. We went to bed Tuesday night and it had started to snow, and when we got up on Wednesday there wasn't a whole lot that had fallen over night. But Mark had decided he was staying home for the day, which meant I was too. And it was a good thing that we did! As the morning went on - the snow kept falling, falling, falling. Whenever you turned on TV they kept saying how blizzard conditions could exist - and if you didn't need to be on the road you shouldn't be. They would show shots of the major roadways and there was barely anyone out. At one point they pulled the plows from the roadways because the conditions were so bad out there.

By the end of the day when the snow stopped falling - the area had broken a record for the snowiest winter ever recorded (which dates back to 1884 when they first started recording the snowfall totals). The area received 54.9" from all the snow storms that had fallen this winter. It's nice to be part of history now!

The snow did stop falling in the afternoon. Rolf had stopped by and him and Mark took a look at the electrical outlets in the dining area since the two weren't working. They couldn't figure out what was wrong with them. After that they played some Wii. Rolf ended up taking it home with him since he figured the Federal Government was going to be closed again on Thursday. Mark ended up going outside to shovel us out again...He wanted to make sure he had it all done in time for the Syracuse basketball game.
