So we got the news this past Saturday that Mark's grandmother passed away. I'd say about a month ago she had fallen and broke a vertebrae, and has been in the hospital since then. A week before she passed I guess Mark's parents were saying she pretty much had given up - not eating or drinking anything for over a week. So her time had come.
We drove up to Albany on Wednesday. We came into work for a couple hours, and then Mark got me around 10:00. Stopped at Enterprise to pick up a car (we got the Nissan Ultima again) and then we were on the road. It took us 6 hours to get up there, which was really good. We had factored in traffic, and map quest said it'd be 6.5 hours. Got to the funeral home and were there for a couple hours. Had a lot of people come through - shows what a great person she was. Went back to Pappa's house and had a beer and then it was bedtime.
Got up Thursday morning and got ready for the funeral. It was raining pretty much all day. Headed over to the funeral home - had a nice service for her. Can tell she will really be missed. Then went over to the cemetery for a little service there...and then back to a fire hall for some food.
