This past weekend was Jenna's shower in Erie that we had for her. Was originally going to drive to Pittsburgh on Friday after work - and then go into Erie on Saturday. But those plans got ruined when Syracuse won last weekend, and were playing in the Sweet Sixteen Friday night. Ended up staying in town to watch the game. We went to Southside again (which wasn't as good on a Friday night - too crowded with Happy Hour people.) Nicole came down and watched with us as well! It sucked though - we lost to Oklahoma. The ref's weren't calling anything on our side...Johnny Flynn hurt himself the end of the 1st half. He played the 2nd half - but could tell he was in a lot of pain. Hopefully everyone will come back next year - and we have another great year!
Saturday morning we got up bright and early. We got up at 4:30 - didn't want to be late for the shower that started at noon. The drive in sucked in the beginning - it was dark, and raining pretty hard. But once we got up to 270 - when the sun started to come up, and the rain started to slow down - it wasn't too bad. Made it to the hotel around 11:30. The girls did a good job setting everything up. And the shower turned out good! It was good getting to see everyone! And Jenna got a bunch of nice stuff. After the shower we went to check into the hotel. Sang Happy Birthday to Ashley! And had a cake for her....Then went down to Grandma's. We didn't stay too long - she has no furniture. They are currently in the process of re-doing her house...the painted everything, put in new carpet...re-doing the kitchen...and bathroom. Think it'll look really nice once it's all done and everything is put back together. After Grandma's we went over to Nana & Papa's. Nana wasn't able to make it to the shower. It was good to stop in and see both of them. They got Papa a computer - and now he watches live horse racing there. After we were done visiting we went up to The Fox and the Hound. No one was really that hungry, and we wanted to go somewhere w/ TVs so they could all watch the Pitt vs. Villanova basketball game. Had a good time with that. Michael came by, as well as Jim & Jane Hynes, and Aunt Jane, Uncle Rick and Jessica. It was rough though after the game. Getting up at 4:30 and driving for 6 hours was hitting me pretty good. Mark, myself, and Rob ended up leaving after the game to go to bed...
Sunday morning we got up and all had breakfast just down in the hotel lobby. Then we were off. Dropped Rob off in Pittsburgh, and then made the drive back home. Wasn't all that bad. We did rent a car - and got a Ford Escape Hybrid which was pretty nice! It even had Sirius! We were good and stopped at the gym on the way home. Didn't really do much of anything once we got home. Sat around, cooked dinner, caught up on laundry and e-mails. And that was our weekend.
